With two points separating Inter and AC Milan at the top of Serie A, there really is everything to play for in this Saturday’s huge Milan derby.
With two points separating Inter and AC Milan at the top of Serie A, there really is everything to play for in this Saturday’s huge Milan derby.
A 22nd Eredivisie title may now be out of Ajax's reach, as their loss at Den Haag this past weekend means they are six points adrift of leaders PSV and five points off of FC Twente after both the top two picked up all three points in their games.
Back in December, a Brazilian known simply as Leonardo and once synonymous with the red half of Milan was unveiled as the new manager of Inter Milan. In a short statement from the club’s website, the Nerazurri chiefs asserted their belief that “Leonardo has the class and experience of a champion” with a mentality that would “get the team together to get results.”
PSV only managing a draw this past weekend means that Twente and Ajax are now breathing down the table-toppers necks with only three points separating the three sides, and with the season ever-nearing its conclusion it looks like this season's title race will go right down to the wire.
The pressure is on as the Eredivisie season enters its final stages with matters to be settled at both the top and bottom of the table, and it looks like some are feeling it more than others. FC Groningen continued to struggle this past week, PSV cut it fine to keep themselves three points clear at the summit and Ajax made it look like just another day at the office.
