Cardiff went two points clear at the top of the table after beating Norwich 3-1 at home. All the action happened in the first half with all four goals being scored. Jay Bothroyd opened the scoring and Michael Chopra then doubled the lead. Wes Hoolahan got one back for Norwich but Peter Whittingham scored from the penalty spot to finish the scoring. Despite this result Norwich are still in the playoffs in 5th place.
Brighton continued their brilliant start to the new campaign with yet another thumping win. Peterborough were their latest victims, as two goals from Barnes and one from Calderon gave the Seagulls a 3-0 away win. Peterborough were completely torn apart from beginning to end and in truth it should have been more, as the league leaders clattered the woodwork on a number of occasions. The South coast side are now seven points clear with fourteen games played.
